Ultimately, the measure of success of e-learning would be if the "e" became invisible. Learning technologies will ultimately be just one tool in the good teacher's toolbox.

I agree with you but I also have reservations. Google seems to doing a first-class job of tracking my activity and comes closest to that universal password. It's got data that's years old that I'd totally forgotten about. On the other hand, I'm really getting cheesed-off with the Google ad '10 Rules for Losing Belly Fat' following me all over the place.

Technologies are converging fast, but how long will it be before these technologies are transparent?
For example - I have over a hundred different usernames and passwords for different applications. It's never going to be transparent until that becomes easier!

Absolutely agree. One of the most successful tools we use is the pen. We use the pen to write but how many are aware of the pen as they write? Their goal is to write - so they write. The most successful tool is the tool you are not aware you are using.
